Ninja New York (Handout photo)

As you descend into the subterranean cavern and emerge from the elevator you find yourself in a 6,000-square foot, feudal ninja castle that whisks you away to what's been designed to mimic a Japanese mountain village. Here stealthy warriors who drop from ceilings and leap from hidden passageways lead guests through a labyrinthine maze to their table. Guests eat in private dining nooks, served by ninjas swathed in black who deliver plates of Japanese-French-American fusion fare with the theatricality and flourish of a ninja in battle: some dishes are set aflame table-side and some spew a cloud of smoke. Periodically your meal is interrupted by bowing, yelping ninjas who also perform party tricks and magic shows. It's 'Kill Bill' meets the circus.
