Chez Sophie, Winnipeg

Reportedly the only restaurant in Canada (and one of very few in the world) located on a bridge, Chez Sophie offers a truly unparalleled view of the Red, one of the greatest rivers in Canada. Here, both the symbolism and the food are delicious. Set on a footbridge named after Louis Riel—an esplanade that serves as the gateway to St. Boniface, Winnipeg’s French Quarter—Chez Sophie Sur le Pont, which opened its doors just a few months ago, serves up authentic Parisian dishes. Servers here and at their other location, a 30-seat bistro on a quiet St. Boniface street, speak French, and croque monsieur is always on the menu.
